It sounds to me like your fill valve is making the noise. For less than $10, you can go to Wal-mart or Menards and buy a Fluidmaster toilet valve. Easy to install, very quiet and dependable. If you haven't done this before, it comes with easy to follow instructions.

Probably calcium build-up in the fill-valve. Easier to change than try to clean it out. Hardware stores and Home Centers (Lowes and HD) carry Fluidmaster 400A fill-valves. Quick and easy to install and the directions are great. Keep the instructions when you are done installing because they tell you how to clear the problem you are now having without replacing again. High pressure is anything over 80 pounds.

try these first;
1. depends on age of toliet
2. turn back on the water amount going into the tank by adjusting the valve going from the supply line
3. Make sure the ball flapper is not rubbing up against the side of the tank
4. do not put in any cleaning type, like bleach boxes or tables
