Good morning to you Amy! It has been warmer here, for all the seasons, then I remember it ever being, when I was younger....We just don't get those -40degrees Celsius in the winter anymore, where I live....I cant say that I miss that, but our summers also seem to be hotter, then normal as well.

Considering one of the articles that Dana posted a link to have said that a very strong El Nino phase could increase the average global temperature by as much as a degree Celsius over the short term giving us another peak temperature reading that would not be seen again until the next strong El Nino event. I would assume that a very strong La Nina would cause the average to go down in a like manor. As for the other natural occurring events, I don't think that they have been studied enough to be given any weight.

We're having a cold summer in Scotland, one of the coldest ones on record (and the wettest). The summers had been getting warmer until this year. The winters are also much milder with only a few days of light frost and about an inch of snow one day last winter.

Having a typical Michigan summer, 90's right now, high humidity. This past winter typical -10 to -15 below zero, ice storm in February that knocked out power for three days.

Snow is OK, it's the six months of cloudy depressing days we get.

It's been above average this week. I remember some hotter summers when I was a kid. Some winters are mild and some winters are really bad. It's different every year - that's the way weather is.

Where I live we've had a wicked summer so far. It's been hotter than fresh dog s***, and the humidity don't help either.
