I think there are more spiritual levels too.
On the instinctual the four f's
Feeding, fighting, fleeing, F***ing
On a mental level, it is more about a need for relationship and identity.
Then on the spiritual levels, our innate Spiritual Nature's tends towards expression and recognition: Love, Truth, Magnificence, Purity, and Unity. They can motivate us in the same way as our other 'needs'.

You could just as easily eliminated Food from your options given the inclusion of the broader concept of Survival. By design, the acquisition of sustenance is implied.

Who, incidentally, is Egos? Can I assume that you mean oneself?

If so, then you've introduced an even broader concept that shouldn't surprise anyone. In fact, as above, because of its broad understanding, you could probably eliminate Mating from your options and link the behavior to one's own gratification (satisfying Mr. Egos).

Now you're left simply with:

a. Survival
b. Personal gratification

No surprise there. In fact, you might even consider narrowing further with only a minor modification:

a. Gratifying survival

Everything we do leads to achieving...a gratifying survival for ourselves and our progeny (to the extent that progeny satisfies each one of us).

No surprise, no news whatsoever.

The human personality grows to be complex. It seems to need many things to survive and be "happy".

The ego, which can grow into a monster that devours the heart, is a sly devil...because it is blind to itself!

The ego has tortured countless millions, emotionally, mentally and physically and still struts away full of self-righteousness.

It is at the center of this whole enlightenment thing...what a show.

You forgot to add the fifth one i.e.
e) Religion / Spirituality

There are three things in this world that will never cease to be until the end of the human race -
SEX [b)mating], PROPERTY [a)food, c)survival & d)ego] & RELIGION [rising above all cravings for benefit of oneself]

~Egoism is also there in living beings. You can see Egoism in animals; like dogs, ...

We as human beings exhibt more of Egoism and try to satisfy it.

Egoism comes into picture only when he/she fulfills minimum needs. For animals, they have to struggle for minimal needs (like food, survival,...).
