Getting more money wouldn't solve your problem, even though it might justify the trouble the boy is causing. I am a grandmother and when I was your age and babysitting (by the way, I got 50 cents an hour then!), I came across the same type of situations, so kids haven't changed. He is trying to control you, and doing a fine job of it. If you can ignore him when he is pouting or throwing a fit, then he won't have a hold on you. Make sure he is safe, but turn your back and pretend that he isn't being naughty. It would be good if you could find some games to play with both the boy and the girl. Look on the internet for simple games like "I Spy". I used to play this with my children when we were on a long car ride or in the doctor's office. You take turns "spying" an object in the room and you say, "I spy something red" and they take turns guessing what it is. That is something for all ages. Find other things to involve both of them and if the boy starts to be stubborn, tell him that if he doesn't play right, then you and the girl will continue playing without him. After a few times of being left out AND ignored, he will begin to change his mind. But you have to be consistant and do it every time. Kids are smart and will run you over if you give them a chance! Good luck with your babysitting and remember, you are the one that is older and smarter, and, in charge.

Oh I doubt I will be shocked. My 6 year old had a stomch virus a few months ago. She informed me of this by waking me up saying "Mamma?" and then threw up in my face.

Parenthood is lovely.

I don't even have to guess but I can tell you that it is not nearly as big a mess as two teenaged boys can make when they are well. That gives you something to look forward to.

We had to have carpet REMOVED after our three kids had the stomach flu. Professional cleaners could not clean it. God bless wood floors.
