I am throwing a party, and I accidentally (because there was a big master list) invited someone that my friend's sister has a big problem with. As soon as she found out, my friend told her sister instead of telling me first to see if I could fix it. Now her sister made a big deal about it and there was a big fight (her sister is my relative by marriage). Should I be mad at my friend? Why did she run and tell her sister when she knew she was not going to react well?

I don't know that it was all of that..."betrayal" is a strong word when you consider that the person she told was her sister. Yes, you are her friend and there is some implied loyalty there,(and it would have been infinitely better for her to have consulted you before consulting her) but definitely no more so than is implied between siblings. You have to recognize the moral dilemmas people of conscience confront when placed in situations where their loyalties are in opposition through no fault of their own. They will choose along family lines nearly every time. That's not surprising. What IS surprising is the occassional person who doesn't choose along family lines. Ironically, that will be a person who is capable of all manner of deceit and who bears closer scrutiny.

By the way, WTF is Chatu C talking about?

The way I look at it is this. It's your party and you decide who you want to invite. If other guests have a problem with it, then they should not come.

Providing the issue is nothing major, then I don't see why the two can't just try to get along. There will be other guests to mingle with and the two should be able to stay away.

Mistakes like this can happen especially when you are inviting lots of people.

Just enjoy yourself!

You could tell by the way that he treats you. The things that he was doing he stopped doing. He has no interest in sex, he is always day dreaming and you do not know what is on his mine. The list goes on and on
