How many crickets should my baby veiled chameleon eat daily?

I was told between 7-8 with meal worms every other day. But if I put eight crickets in her tank, even if she is not hungry will she eat all of them? Because I don't want her getting sick. Or in other words does she know when she's full or will she keep eating because they are all there?

Also make sure not to leave any straggling crickets in the cage, as they can stress out your veiled, and thats what you want to stay away from most when a baby is growing. Just put a couple in there at a time, if she eats those put 1-2 more in ect. and when she doesnt eat the last one just take it out.

When I had baby veileds I found that offerring them food twice a day worked out well. I never really limited their food and let them eat as much as they wanted. They are a very rapidly growing species and all the food that babies take in goes to this growth. Regular calcium supplements are also critical with fast growers like veileds. Wax worms are a good alternative to crickets as well and are more digestible then mealworms. Keep as much variety in the diet as you can. Veileds also feed on plant matter when they are a bit older. They love the house plant called pothos which you can add to their enclosure.

She's a baby...only put as any crikets or worms in there that she will eat. The crickets or worms left in the tank will die if she doesn't eat them right away. I think two or three small crickets to start will do as well as two or three meal worms. If she doesn't eat them all lower the food amounts and if she eats them all increase the amount.
