What do you do with all the little gifts people give you and they don't go with anything in your house. When they come to visit they will look around to see if I have displayed them. What do I tell them when they don't see them. Generally everyone knows I don't collect them.

I get rid of them all. If someone has given me a gift, then it's mine to do whatever I want with it.

You could do what I do: Display them at your work for a period of time and then retire them. I generally let the knick knack hang out at work on a shelf until I have received the next one and then retire the old one. I do not generally take them home. Once I received a whole collection of beanie babies for every holiday (sigh), that was a pain to display. I waited several months and then I gave them all to my daughter. I told my "friend" that my daughter had a fit for them and I gave them to her for safekeeping. It seemed to make them both happy.
