I'm trying to do fluids checks and changes. Need to know how much of what fluid, filters types and sizes, where check points are. Geez! This is a new much bigger engine for me and things aren't where I'm used to seeing them. I want to go from regular 10w30 to Mobil 1.

Get ya 7 quarts of good oil and a PH1 filter for the oil change. Change the filter and add 6 quarts and top off as needed. I have showed you where the dipsticks are. Also get you a grease gun and grease every fitting you can find on the front end and u-joints. check the trans fluid, engine running at temperature. If you want to change the trans filter you will need to remove the trans pan and take it with you to the auto parts store and they can tell you what kind of trans you have and get you the right kit. You will also need about 7 quarts of trans fluid. To check the rear end fluid you need to remove the pipe plug on the top right, look where the drive shaft comes in and you will see it on the passenger side. Everything about the drive train is Ford all the way.

oil stick is located just above the valve cover. oil filter is a pH1 bottom end next to oil pan. and best of all you can go to your local auto parts store they will have how much and what type. as this Eng has and is still in use today.
P.S. If someone installed an aftermarket oil cooler on this Eng chances are you will find the filter connected with 2 large blk hoses

you dont need to know anything to do fluid checks ..without saying what the motor is in doesnt help and why not get shop manual from advance or other parts store...go ahead ane switch oils...but know if motor is a leaker that syn is a lot thinner and will leak faster.
