You have to remember that those who think it clever to point out the obvious, Obama sounds like Osama, are utilizing this train of thought because it is as deep as their political analysis can take them.
They have limited reasoning ability and need things to rhyme to be able to remember things. "Obama=Osama" and "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit" are part and parcel of the same jingoistic approach to life.
