I am a Magician's Assisstant (it's fun), and I am a size 4-6, 5 foot 7. However, he wants me to be rail thin, and everytime he sees me, his first comment is, oh my god, your'e getting fat, or have you gained weight??? In today's society I know it is expected to be a size 2 or 0. However, I am not, and I don't want to be.

This is somthing I enjoy doing, and is helping me with theatre in general. How do I tell him professionally that his remarks hurt me and if they don't stop, he won't have an assisstant?

PS- he's fat

Tell fat boy to stop with the fat comments and lose weight himself. If he doesn't stop, then you quit. Why work for someone who hurts your feelings?

im sorry that you are even putting up with this. i would leave, but its your choice and i wont judge. You could maybe reply to his remark by saying No, but I was just thinking the same thing about you. But say it in a kinda nice smarta** way. Hope that helps. and be proud of yourself no matter your size.

Be calm, don't go to him mad, sit him down and talk to him, tell him how you feel, he may not realize he is hurting you. Try to come to some conclusion. If he does not listen, then you might consider finding another job. I know it is hard but it is not worth you being upset and overwhelmed; it would cause you more stress not being happy with your job. Good Luck!

You can tell him, but it sounds like he thinks it will help keep you thin. You can use reverse psychology on him & tell him when he says that it makes you want to eat...
Tell him you are learning his tricks & will make him (or you) dissapear if he keeps that up!

Tell him "your remarks about my weight hurt me & if they don't stop, you'll have to find another assistant".

That is professional & it shouldn't be too hard to do.
