When asked at his press conference yesterday why he doesn't hold Gonzalez accountable, Bush said that there is no evidence that Gonzalez has done anything illegal. Isn't there overwhelming evidence that Gonzalez is totally incompetent? Didn't Bush's acceptance of Rumsfeld's incompetence prevent, or at least postpone, any meaningful changes to Rummy's failed efforts in Iraq? What is it about today's conservatives that causes them to be so harsh and critical of the of failings of their fellow working class Americans, but so accepting of the failings of their leaders?

Well, when they're damned if they do and damned if they don't, it doesn't make sense to throw one of your own to the wolves. It won't calm them down, it just makes them want more blood.

Wow, a slight generalization is see. Did what Gonzalez did constitute illegality? Democrats want everything Republicans do to be illegal, it's what gets them off. I could only imagine the betrayal by the left if Bush appoints a Democrat to be part of his cabinet.

I hold my party leaders accountable for their negative actions and don't play into the "Democrats do it too!".

Well, Professor, let me start by saying: Who died and named you God?

Incompetence?

What have you done for your community lately? You are very quick to label conservatives in a different class from working class Americans, aren't you?
It may come as shock to you that the majority of conservatives work at "blue collar" jobs and some of us have even held down 2 jobs to make ends meet.

You come off sounding like an elitist communist.

Gonzales may not be the sharpest tack in the toolbox, but he has committed no crime as far as the current, and ridiculous, investigations have turned up.

What they do is give canned answers at press conferences. It would look bad on Bush if he gave an answer negative towards Gonzalez. He will do everything to avoid the truth. In fact, I don't even thing Bush knows the meaning of truth.
