In God's eyes, yes, a marriage is supposed to last until death do we part but humans don't always live up to the commitment in real life.
Unfortunately, yes, a marriage can be broken and though things like judicial separation, serving our country overseas (Thanks to all you folks who but your life on the line everyday to protect & defend us) and other trials & tribulations of life might as you state, 'bar it in the path of its life' it is still a marriage. Divorce, however, is the end. The marriage is over and there is no union going forward. Many people still interact for various reasons (children) but there is no longer a marriage between the two.
Sounds to me like you are grabbing at straws trying to keep together a relationship that is over? They divorced? you. Maybe it's time to focus on moving on & finding someone else and leave the past in the past?

Your question is not clear. If you are trying to imply that although divorce legally ends a marriage, it (that marriage) still lingers on in the minds of the separated partners, then that is right in some cases, but not all. Some marriages are so hellish, that people breathe a sigh of relief after they get their divorce. But when simple problems of adjustment breaks a marriage, the divorced couple doesn't forget their married life in a hurry.

I do not know why you are mixing mortgages with a holy marriage life. That is different and this is different. Husband and wife are made for each other and it has been decided by the GOD. There is no second opinion. Yours VRVRAO

Marriage is supposed to be an unbreakable tie, but people sometimes get worn down and the tie gets "broken". Everything in life is unfortunately breakable.

It means that marriage is a convenant with God. If divorce and remarriage should occur, the convenant with the first marriage still stands. In other words. God doesn't recognize 2nd, 3rd etc marriages.

Both must feel that it is unbroken only then it is unbroken, otherwise if they separate then it is separation, eventhough it is official or unofficial.
