Only if they are deep fried in batter.
The trick is to freeze the tin of mushy peas cut off both ends of the can, push the frozen peas out, cut the peas into thick slices, batter and deep fry.
The batter gets cooked the peas melt in the intense heat and you've got deep fried mushies in batter.
Don't knock it until you have tried it.

The first time I ordered mushy peas was in an English resturant. When I saw what was on the plate, I though it looked like baby poop. I love peas, but i had some kind of spice in it that I really did not care for.

Veggies are best stir fried & still crispy. They also retain more vitamins that way. We used to eat the sugar peas (snow peas) right off the plant.
