I had a doll when I was about six (1972), she did somersaults when you pressed the button, she lasted about three months before the remote was broken. I think my brother did something nasty to her.

The toys like cars some with remote controlled , legos , many more. and mixed with many friends like eurasians , chineses, malays and indians until I grown up with a job in the hotel I was surprised that most them lie all the times.As for the Malays , I used to play football with them , imagined the whole team defendless against two street gangsters and I was just a kid watching them being called one by one for the gangster to hamper them, I prefered my toys better with or without remote controlled.

are you kidding? We didn't even have remote control on our tv till I was like 13 or so, let alone on my toys. I could make my little sister do things though. Does that count?

We didn't have a toilet that flushed. And, we re-wrapped used toys in the comic strips for Christmas gifts. (I'm not kidding.)
I was in college in '72, and was the talk of the dorms when I purchased the first electric typewriter anyone had used. Of course, I still had to use carbon paper to make copies of my papers.
