I used to such my thumb with my index finger hooked over my nose and with the other hand I would have a chunk of hair and poke it in and out of my ear, feels good, and great for split ends!

I had the requisite bear at bedtime... but I carried a tiny beanbag doll (1 1/2 inch tall) around everywhere he fit in my pocket so he literally came everywhere with me. I still have him somewhere. His name is 'Larry'... he came in this plastic peanut shell... I'm told I got him when I was two or something from an aunt out west... damn...Larry was the best.
