It depends which country you live in. In the UK it is up to the individual hotel's discretion as to whether they allow smoking in the rooms.

I have stayed in a smoking room since the ban.

I think some hotels still have smoking rooms, but you still wouldn't be allowed to smoke in the public areas, I expect some of the celebs could afford to light up wherever they wanted, and if they get caught, just pay the fine!

Where is this happening? I live in Massachusetts and you can still smoke in hotels here, and pretty much everywhere I've traveled in the US has smoking rooms available. That would really suck... Yeah, Colin and I will be smoking by the dumpsters, I guess.

Legally yes....as it is classed as a place of residence....However most hotels have chosen to make all rooms non-smoking as that is what the majority want, more people request a room that is not smoked in than a smoking room.

A smoking ban means exactly that, nowhere in the hotel you can smoke, you must smoke, if at all, outside away from the entrance, here in Washington a manditory law went into effect where you MUST be 25 feet from any entrance.

i've stayed in hotel rooms after the ban and down here in florida they still ask you before you check in if you want a smoking room or non smoking room. so celebs are doing just fine here.

There are smoking rooms in public areas like Railroad stations, airports etc.
In hotels you have smoking and non smoking rooms too.
Restaurants have smoking and non-smoking sections.

You can't smoke in hotel rooms or anywhere else that is covered if it has more than two sides. so no smoking in the latest bus shelters either.

The owner of a hotel I stayed at last month knocked on my door, she could smell smoke and reminded me it was illegal to smoke in hotels.

I think she was seen sniffing at my door.

I though hotels were home from home.
