Wasps are critically important in natural biocontrol. Almost every pest insect species has a wasp species that is a predator or parasite upon it. Parasitic wasps are also increasingly used in agricultural pest control as they have little impact on crops. Wasps also constitute an important part of the food chain.

You could try sticking one on the end of a Calligraphy pen holder and dipping it in ink and trying to write with it but it might be considered a little cruel.

Without them we would have no fruit and there would be no pollination of plants etc. They are vital to our survival, as are most insects, who have a part to play in the great and complex world of nature.
