I've just discovered that I have one in my garden and I'm thrilled because I love blackberries but they are so expensive to buy.

If you have one blackberry bush you will soon have a million! They spread and are very hard to control, good thing you like blackberries!

Good for you!! I'm putting some in this fall along with raspberries. You'll need to get some netting to cover them with if you want to keep some of them for yourself...otherwise, the birds will be happy, full and leaving blackberry deposits all over.

How does one know if they are safe to eat. I only have a Holly bush which I thought was a big weed hidden behind a tree. Plus strawberry plants.

Yes, but not on my home property, but on my allotment. I fully agree that you cannot beat Blackberries especially home grown ones.

The robins and blackbirds will get to them long before you do. See, 24 of them even got in the pie.

Yes, we have loads behind our back fence. At the moment we are picking them for pies, crumbles, to put in jellies, etc etc. Hate the thorns though!
