As far as fun/theme/amusement parks go, I'd put it in the top 10% in the US. Surprising that it would be located somewhere so "unfamous" as Branson, MO...but it's true. And it's midwest so it's family safe (I do NOT count the metro areas of Texas as in the midwest by the way, or Kansas City for that matter...LOL)
I felt comfortable taking my little nieces and nephews there...and I'm paranoid in that respect...LOL
The only thing that could have been better would to have been to locate it just a little more south....like here in Fort Smith, Arkansas....(sigh)

Hi and good morning....'Silver Dollar City"...It's on the same order as to Six Flags and Disney World but with a different theme. When I had visited Silver Dollar City several years ago it was set up like a western or country theme. It had a 'old train' ride to where bandits would come on board and actually 'rob' the train. Sometimes they would kidnap a passenger then the sheriff would shoot them down...lol. They had a stage coach ride...same thing except one would be attacked by Indians and then bandits. Then you have the 'Marvel Cave" experience. It's a huge cave that individuals can actually have tours inside. The cave does have bats! And it's chilly like many caves so take a sweater or jacket. Then there is the 'General Store' attraction to where the Hatfield's and the McCoys have their feud. Many attractions to see and rides. I'm hoping to visit Silver Dollar City again real soon myself, it's worth the trip and the money. Have a great day!

The previous contributors have really covered it. I live in Missouri. Have been there several times. Will go again this fall to enjoy the change of seasons. It is about 100 here in central MO today. Fall weather seems like a nice thought.
You will need at least one full day there. And the activities are varied. Something for all ages. And it is definately NOT a tourist trap.

It's a cross between an Amusement Park and Las Vegas.
It has a lot to offer for both adults and children......a real popular place, but extremely crowded during the holidays.
Nice summer vacation spot.

They hae live shows pretty regular too.
There is een a HUUUUGE walking cave tour, the first room in cave is big enough to hold statue of libety. (i saw a bat).
More to do there then you can fit in a day.
