I was reading her full biography on the CSI website & she was supposed to have grown up in Montana until she split from her parents & when she came back they were moved out so she ended up in Las Vegas. This may have been her original character but the storyline on her life has been changed since the show started.

The bio on most sites has been revised to state that her mom was a showgirl and a single mom.
Wikipedia has the revised one posted.

I agree with what others have said, but Sam could have been her biological father even if her mother was married to a man Catherine thought was her father. That's kind of the situation with Capt. Brass, where his "daughter" is not really his child, because his wife cheated on him, but the girl doesn't know it.

My mom. My mom and dad divorced whilst i replaced into youthful and my mom remarried. i've got continuously considered by step-dad my dad in spite of the shown fact that. My actual dad did not have something to do with me. He died a pair of years in the past not understanding he had 2 grand toddlers.

Its a show. They are full of inconsistencies.
