is there such thing as philisophical couseling? if so where would i look?

i need to discuss academic western philosoph ywith someone who knows alot on the subject to help form my opinions

1. Wouldn't it be great if we had holograms of all the great philosophers?

2. I wouldn't trust the instructors on university campuses. I've found that they are HIGHLY opinionated, and perhaps too focused on the minutia of the curriculum.

3. It will be hard to find someone to consult with, but that is what you must do. I'd help you get started on the right path (based upon what you seek). Although the Yahoo Guidelines prohibit me from suggesting that you email me for such a thing, it is up to you whether you do so or not.

Major universities or colleges that have philosophy courses would be one place to start.
