i totally had that my whole second trimester. it's gone away since i've stopped working. what i used to do is recline... if you have an office chair or something that reclines a little, try that. i'd sit in that position for 10-15 minutes and i'd have a couple hours of relief. but some days it's really bad and tylenol is all you can take. besides that, a warm (not too hot) bath. you said you wake up with it... maybe it's your mattress?? i slept on my couch untill i was too big to fit on it, haha. i don't think your mattress has gone bad so i wouldn't throw it out, but when you're pregnant, your whole body changes, everything loosens and your boobs grow which can make your back do crazy things! remember it wont last forever, it's just one of the many joys of being pregnant. good luck to you :-)

It might just be that your breasts are getting heavier and larger, so your back muscles need to get stronger. Or, from sleeping in one position for too long (on your left side, perhaps). Or your posture is changing from having to carry around a 25 week baby. At any rate, it doesn't sound dangerous, just really annoying. You can see a chiropractor or a massage therapist that is trained in pregnant women.

It's probably because the baby pulls on your shoulder muscles. For temporary aches and pains I use TheraP magnets. They are expensive, but worth it. I use them religiously on my back and ankles.
