I'm not a fan of the 80s (though I was born in '82 - I think it was one of the most tasteless decades ever).

The 80's were cool.... bright colours and fab music!
Although some would argue that the best thing that happened in the 80's was that they ended!

Pac Man was the best thing to come out of the 80's, because if we didn't have that, the video game generation would never have been born.

um
and Germany reunited after years of being split in two
and China got Hong Kong back
and Dire Straits released 'Money For Nothing', still a good compilation...
but if I hadn't been born, I wouldn't have been there to see those things now, would I?

Probably all the cool cartoons that came out then. Transformers, Masters of the Universe, Thundercats, Voltron, Robotech... Also, the 80's was the golden age of arcade games, like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, etc. Also, home systems started coming out and became really popular, first the Atari 2600, then the NES, although these home systems would eventually be the demise of video arcades.

The Best thing that happened in the 80s was my graduation from high school and the music. Not necessarily in that order. The music was awesome. Metal ruled the airwaves.

how do you know it was tasteless you were barely there?! anyway definetly best things of the eighties were live aid and the berlin wall coming down.
