I know that different conditions mean different fruits, I live in South Africa, good sun, good moisture and great temperature, so climate is not a problem. I've tried growing an avocado tree a couple times and had some success, but now i'm looking to see what fruit tree I can grow indoors which offers little hastle. Thank you

Rowan, an Improved Meyer Lemon, if you have them there. They are considered the best all-around lemon for making lemonade, lemon pie, and squeezing into drinks, and easier to grow. You will need to have it near a window that has lots of all day sun. That will be true of any fruiting tree.

My father had an orange tree in his apartment for several years (he died, the tree lived.) It did produce fruit.

Cherries are too messy for indoors, low quats are very slow growing, cumquats are popular for people who like bitter tastes. Those are my thoughts.
