What kind of landscape surrounds your hometown?

My hometown is on the rural urban fringe of a large city (pop. 4 million). To the east we have urban landscape (only a few short years ago it was semi rural). To the north, south and west we have natural bushland. Yes, in summertime we have bush fires all around us.
