I don't know how they work on migraines but I read that almonds are the natural way to treat having a headache, If you like to eat them or don't mind them try a few and see if it helps any. Can't hurt. They have no side effects and nuts have nutritional value otherwise to ingest some . Be careful to avoid them if you had kidney stones or have a family history of producing those as nuts add to what causes this and don't want to increase any risk in forming those any time soon. Don't expect instant results. Nothing works that fast.

Migraines are often caused by dehyration. Although you may drink water the question remains is the water that you drink acidic or alkaline? Most every bottled water on the market today is Acid in nature. The 'healthy waters' such as Propel are more acidic than regular waters and as a matter of fact are more acidic than soda. Our bodies are constantly trying to rid themselves of acid waste which is a normal product of stressful lifestyles, foods that we eat (all meat, dairy products, coffee, tea, soda and alcoholic beverages are acidic.) Because a strict vegetarian diet is not healthy for most, due the lack of B-12 intake for one reason, and most people will not follow that regimented diet) it is necessary to alkaline the body by drinking Alkaline water. Alkaline water hydrates 6x more than any other water that you can consume. Research indicates that it will attack the acid waste buildup in our body so that the body can function more efficiently. 80% of our health lies in the colon and it is a well known fact that people who suffer from migraines do not elimate properly. I suffered with migraines for years and experienced great relief after my body started to experience elimination as it should. Increase the amount of fresh fruits and vegetable in your diet. Drink half of your body weight in ounces of Alkaline water. Dis-ease cannot live in an Alkaline state. You can get bottles of Alkaline water at a health food store or you could buy a device that will make it at your tap. Although buying by the bottle can be less expensive up front it will cost a huge amount of money over time. I bought a unit from www.ionways.com/devore.

Something else that is extremely important. Watch your stress level. There is a reason that they say..'stress kills'. Emotional stress puts stress on all organs of the body. It doesn't stop with a mental decline. It affects your entire body. Walk, bike, jog, meditate, practice Qi Gong or Tai Chi. Just manage your stress level. Recognize when you are stressed, breathe and change your thoughts to the next best thought you can reach that makes you feel better....even if it makes you change what you are thinking about altogether.

I hope this helps. There is nothing worse than the pain of a migraine.

I would go to a chiropractor and get evaluated. You may have a pinched nerve or other anomalies that are causing your headaches. I had migranes for at least 20 years. Took all kinds of garbage medications that hurt my body in other ways. The chiropractor has taken away my migraines for good. Sometimes stress can bring them on. The chiropractor will loosen up your muscles and free the nerve passages that will hep you with your problem.

I also suffer from migraines. So here is some info that will help you.
Fumitory/Earth Smoke (Fumaria Officinalis)
Use Arial Parts
It’s a bitter herb, tonic to the liver and gallbladder and is laxative and diuretic, thus its reputation as a blood cleanser. Its main use is twofold. First as a normalizer for the gallbladder, COMBINED with herbs like Berberis Vulgaris, Taraxacum Radix and Carduus Marinus. It can relive the pain of biliary colic and migraines relating to biliary problems. Second, which stems from its cleansing properties, is in helping to clear skin conditions, such as eczema and acne. For this COMBINE with Rumex, Glycyrrhiza and Calendula, among others. OTHER: The flowers can be used to make a yellow dye for wool.

Ginkgo, Maidenhead Tree (Ginkgo Biloba)
Use Leaves
Is a gentle but powerful circulatory stimulant, especially good for symptoms of the head. It helps to prevent Arteriosclerosis, thus good for older people, especially those whose had strokes or at risk of them. Can safely be taken continuously and COMBINED with herbs like Panax Ginseng (if appropriate), Rosmarinus and Tilia. Can help to improve memory and sharpen concentration. Has recently attracted attention for its ability to help the elderly confused and perhaps to delay or mitigate Alzheimer’s disease. Is also well known in the treatment of Tinnitus, dizziness, labyrinthitis and Meniere’s disease and well worth trying for persistent headaches and migraines. CULINARY: The seeds can be eaten like nuts. CAUTION: If taking blood thinning drugs, or any medication for the treatment or prevention of stroke, inform your doctor, as Ginkgo is a usefull ally but may affect the dosage of drugs needed.

Sweet Basil, Common Basil (Ocimum Basilicum)
Use Leafy Tops
Another of the many digestive herbs, it is a little different from the rest in that it is both calming and cheering to the spirits. It can help to ease headaches and migraines, and use of the essential oil is said to increase enthusiasm. Pretty close to pure essence of sunshine, it is a lovely herb to use in winter when your spirits are down. CULINARY: Prized for its wonderfull flavour, it is used in all sorts of cooking traditions, from Thai, as an ingredient of some fragrant spiced dishes, to Italian, as in pesto sauce. In Europe it has most often been used with tomatoes, both cooked and in salads. It is sweet enough to be used in fruit cups and punches. OTHER: The oil is used in the perfumery and liquor industries.

AND THEN ALSO

Lavender (Lavandula Officinalis)
Use Flowers and Perfume
Is not often taken internally, though it can be made into a relaxing tea. Is mainly used as an oil, rubbed directly into the skin, added to a bath or inhaled. Is a wonderful calming and relaxing herb, with a strong first-aid effect, dabbed on the temples it can relive a headache and it will relive earache in seconds if dropped into the affected ear. Used regularly it can help to relieve depression and calm anxiety, and so helps when someone is in a state of nervous exhaustion. OTHER: It has always been loved for its wonderful perfume. The dried flowers can be hung up in bunches or put into bags, pomanders and pot-pourris. The oil is used to make perfume and can be burned in an oil burner, used in aromatherapy massage, or dabbed on handkerchiefs and pillows.

Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis)
Use Leaves and Twigs
Gives a wake-up call on all levels. Besides its well known digestive properties it is stimulating both to the circulation and to the nervous system. Thus dealing with any problems to do with the head, from headaches, falling hair and premature baldness to sleepiness, confusion, absent-mindedness and depression. It brings focus and clarity and dispels fogginess. COMBINE with Lavandula and Stachys for headaches, COMBINE with Panax or Artemisia for lack of alertness and mental energy, and COMBINE with Hypericum, Scutellaria and Avena for depression. The oil can be rubbed into the head to counteract hair loss as it stimulates the hair follicles. It is a usefull warming and anti-inflammatory oil, and can be COMBINED with Juniperus, Myrtus and Cinnamomum, among others, for the relief of rheumatic aches and pains. OTHER: It is one of the ingredients in eau-de-cologne and is often used in shampoo and hair tonics. CAUTION: Because of its stimulating nature, it is not appropriate for people with high blood pressure.

Wild Marjoram, Oregano (Origanum Vulgare)
Use Arial Parts
Like all culinary herbs it helps the digestion, but has its own unique qualities as well. It’s fairly antiseptic (like Thymus) and can be used in the same way for chest complaints, coughs and colds. A gargle will help to heal oral thrush and mouth ulcers. It’s also quite sedative, so it can be used to relieve headaches, calm the nerves and aid sleep. The oil, diluted in a oil or cream base, will relieve pain in the joints and muscles when rubbed in CULINARY: It has always been valued for its scent and taste, whether sweet or wild. Origanum Vulgare tends to be spicier and Origanum Majorana more delicately flavoured. Was used as an ingredient of stuffings for roast meats, or added to salads, also as a herb tea. Now also used in toothpastes, cosmetics and perfumes. OTHER: Was a favourite strewing herb in middle ages and the juice was used to clean furniture. It stays fragrant after drying thus usefull in pot-pourris, sachets and herb pillows.

White Willow (Salix Alba and SPP.)
Use Bark
The bark is rich in both tannins and in salicin, which breaks down to produce salicylic acid during digestion. The tannins makes it astringent, which is usefull as a digestive tonic, but it is the action of the salicylic acid that is most important. Like its derivative drug, aspirin, salicylic acid is a valuable anti-inflammatory and painkiller. It reduces fevers, eases headaches, and helps with the symptoms of rheumatism and arthritis. It is also said that willow will help make your limbs more supple and flexible. COMBINE with herbs like Harpagophytum, Glycyrrhiza and Symphytum. Salix helps to thin the blood and can be a usefull preventative for those at risk of blood clots. COMBINES well with Crataegus, Achillea, Tillia and Allium Sativum for this. OTHER: Many types of Salix are grown for its flexible young branches, produced by coppicing and pollarding. These can be bent and woven into hurdles, baskets and more. The cricket-bat willow is grown specifically for making cricket bats. CAUTION: If you are taking anticoagulant drugs, consult a doctor before taking herbs as well.

Peace be within you
