I'm having a tough time deciding between VisionTek Radeon X1050 256MB HD Video Card and the eVGA e-GeForce 8500GT 256MB PCI-Express Card. I don't know which would be better for gaming.

8500GT is better for gaming and HD video. It is a DX10 card and its GPU is more robust. X1050 is a budget card with just 4 pixel pipelines and 2 vertex shaders.

If it were me, i would go for the geforce.
Why... well i really prefer geforce cards, plus i never seen or heard about the x1050 before.

Also the GeForce 8500GT is a good choice and it has DX10 support, does the Radeon X1050 have that ?

DX 10 support 8500gt would be good if you are running on vista, but if not u better go for 7900gt... galaxy 7900gt proved to be better in DX9 support system...i had read review in pc magazines and they said if got vista go for GeForce8 series, if not don't bother applying 8 series in your system coz 7900gt is better when it comes to DX9

P/S: don't even think of other card except 8500gt if you're really running on vista (got DX10)

The 8500 gt. Though they probably won't be able to play the latest and greatest games all that well with all the eye candy. You would want to get something like a 8600 gt, which can be had from newegg for a hundred dollars.

geforce. I am biased towards them because I've never had a problem with them, and they rock. I've installed the 8500 GT on computers and it runs wonderfully.
