My mom made up a story about a pea named Jimmy who left the other peas in the pod and went to town and ate a whole chocolate cake and got so big and round that he had to roll home. It's one of my earliest and fondest memories! :)

A book called "Miss Twiggly's Tree" about a an eccentric lady who is terribly shy and avoids people. She lives in a tree house with her dog and some bears. All the people in town gossip and make fun of her until one day when a hurricane hits the town and and the entire countryside is flooded. Miss Twiggly, her dog and the bears save the people from the town by making room for them in her tree. At the end of the book it says:
"When emergencies come
you don't think about you.
You help all you can
and you never ask why.
Then the next thing you know,
you forget to be shy!"

It's such a sweet story and as you can see at the age of 45, I still have the entire book memorized!

It was a story about a a pair of birds who fooled a crow. The crow wanted to take away the birds' dinner forcefully, so the birds' had an idea. They invited the crow over for dinner and left some rubbish in the food container. The crow came back and saw it and was really angry but he couldn't harm them as they had flown away.My grandmother told me this. It's a very silly story actually, but I loved it when my granny told me the story while she fed me dinner.Later my dad bought me the book of 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' and 'Cinderella' and I remember putting myself to sleep while reading those books. Ah!! Good times:)

It was a book with everyday objects and their names and I used to go through it and window shop for what I'd like. These days I use the Argos catalogue.

my mom would tell my sister and I stories about a lamb named Lambipie who lived in heaven and would come down to earth. My brother would tell really funny stories about himself when I was a kid too.

awww... that's cute!

my favorite was the children's tale Puss N' Boots. I also liked the Grimm's fairy tales, which my Dad used to read to me every night before I went to sleep. And... of course... the little piggies that were my toes.. wee-wee-wee- all the way home!
