I am a 22yr old/ women. Problem:
I have been bleeding for six months now.
In a month I will bleed lite 2 wks and EXTREMLEY heavy 1wk.
Everybody says to go to the doctor. Problem is that I am a virgin and I am very uncomfortable with someone pooking me and stuff down there. So I have been just living with it.
I know, I need to see a dr. and when I get over it I will. But does anyone know what could be going on with me.
I cramp everyday of the month, I sweat more, I gained weight, I sleep more, I'm always irritated, and my face is never clear anymore.
Anybody got anything???

I started to have similar problems when I was around your age (I'm 35 and still a virgin) and it turned out to be a hormone imbalance.

I know it can be an uncomfortable thought to have a doctor see inside but I would recommend seeing a female physician for this not only because of first time visit, but I think you would feel more comfortable talking to a female physician about this issue.

My hormone imbalance was diagnosed as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.

i no someone like u but she is 15 yrs old nearly 16. she has peroids like every 5 or 6 months and when she gets them, they are really heavy and she has really bad stomach pains, she has gone to the doctors but they said she is stilll 2 young as it may change soon but if it carries on, then she will have to go to the doctors again and sort something out, dont no what would happen though, soz. id go 2 the doctors if i was u, u may not like it, but after, at least ur'll no the problem, if there is one, good luck if u do go!!!!

just go the doctor-gynecologist.its embarassing but there is nothing a painful as realising you can't have children because something wasn't caught on time.

my friend had a similar case-but not for that long-she bled contiously for a month----after 4wks she finally got the courage to tell her mum-they did surgery on her-she had a tumor or something-----.
u need to stop, look at the big picture and just do it......!u may just save your life.
don't u feel very self uncomfortable???

If you're going to see a doctor, you really don't need our opinions.

Look, GYN exams aren't fun for any woman, virgin or not. You're an adult. Stop procrastinating and see a doctor. You can find female doctors or nurse practitioners, if you'd be more comfortable with that.

don't take it from me but maybe you just experience irregular menstrual cycles. a doctor could prescribe you with birth control pills to help regulate it. seriously though, go see a doctor.
