Regardless of your opinion on the McCanns parenting skills or lack thereof - SHOULD THEY NOT BE THE FIRST PEOPLE TO BE INFORMED ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION INTO THEIR OWN CHILD'S DISAPPEARANCE?
From the BBC.
"Madeleine McCann's parents have called on police to tell them about evidence that reportedly contradicts the belief that their daughter was abducted.
In Portugal, press reports - attributed to police sources - say detectives believe she is dead. Publicly, police are refusing to comment on the reports."
This is ridiculous.

"they will not be bullied into releasing any information "?? I've heard of bullying within the police force, but not bullying the police.

The way the portuguese law works is that they cannot divulge certain information pertaining to investigations. This means that in certain cases they may not even be allowed to inform the parents.
Think on it this way HYPOTHETICALLY. Say the whole theory about Gerry and Kate killing Madeleine was true and that they have concealed the body. Any information the police gave them may allow them to keep one step ahead and further conceal the body. While we may not agree with their policing I can see some logic in it.

Don't be so daft. The police suspect the McCanns had something to do with the child's disappearance. Since when have police handed over evidence to people they suspect of a crime?
Once the blood test results are back and reveal the blood found to be Madeleine's, we'll see the McCanns' attitude to the Portugeuse police shift again, because then they'll know they're trapped in a corner.

No i do not think it is silly ....
Would you tell someone you expected them of foul play if you did not have all the information ?
Would you not wait until you had collected all the evidence which would support your theory
The police do not need to tell them everything ....
If the police disclose information then excuses can be made etc .. the Portuguese police are playing it by the book and only when they are ready will they be telling the mccanns and they will not be bullied into releasing any information

The police never tell people everything - they usually have some piece of info known only to them which becomes a trump card later on in the investigation.
But, correct me if I'm wrong - not so long ago Gerrymeander was spouting about the great relationship he and the mrs had with the bobbies - what's changed!

"Chivista De Corazon" would love to answer this question :) The fact that he was born outside of Mexico does in fact break the Chiva tradition but no one really cares.
