Many gay guys that I know have spent time and money shaving, waxing, plucking and depilating their body hair even (and to some especially) their pubic bush ... they will trim it meticulously and some even shave them off completely. It's a mystery to me.

Oh I'm quite hairy myself and I don't bother with such niceties ... neither am I a grizzly ... just that I could never understand the obsession with hair ... or lack of it

It's one thing to keep yourself well-groomed but it's quite another to spend hours obliterating every hair on your body. Shaving your face is fine and so is grooming your pubes or underarm hair ... but I draw the line at men waxing their legs, arms and chest ... unless they plan on becoming drag queens ... not that I wouldn't go out with them ... but some of them can be obsessed to the point of being anally retentive.

Personally I do not understand gay people who shave their bodies. I mean, why are they doing this? It is just natural for a man to be a bit (or more than a bit) hairy, even if he is gay. Perhaps they simply want to separate themselves from hetero people by doing this, but it is a very weak point, since many heterosexuals shave their bodies as well. I myself find a man attractive when he is a man and not a frog. Sorry but this is what I believe in.
Anyway it is a mystery indeed. Perhaps it is just.. well... some kind of fashion-thing ... but spending time and money shaving, waxing, plucking their body hair ... wow .. .they should work on their relationships instead of this. No offence, but if you want sex, not your hairy-ness is the major factor. If you want a serious relationship, not your hairy chest will count either. So then ... WHY? --- It is their decision however, so I do not care. But their choice is not my style.
LONG LIVE THE HAIRY MEN!

Not all gay men are 'obsessed' with ridding themselves of body hair. It could be that some gay men may be more feminine so they choose to trim and clean up to look nice, either that or it's just a preference to not be totally hairy.

There are many factors that can attribute to hair recession or massive hair fall and you need to find out which one exactly is responsible for the problem you are having now. Of course male pattern baldness is still the most common cause, but, for instance, if you are a woman things are deinitely different! This is the reason why you will need to really dig down and see the source of your problem.
Other causes of hair loss may include (both in men and women): severe mental or emotional stress, excessive use of coloring or bleaching agents, traction alopecia or excessive strain on the scalp due to braiding or corn rowing, hormonal changes, alopecia areata or hair loss due to autoimmune diseases, and many more. Each of these conditions will require a different approach in order to achieve success regardless of whether you're going to be using conventional or natural methods.
In my opinion it's much better to use natural methods as opposed to conventional ones, they're cheaper, have less to no side effects, and often more effective.
A good way of regaining your full head of healthy natural hair is well described on this guide: http://hairagain.toptips.org
Good Bye

I'm sure not every gay guy is obsessed with getting rid of body hair. I just think it's a preference. Some straight guys get their chest waxed. Personally, I think it looks better, and I don't like hair. So, It's like the same reason why I would shave my face. I just don't like being hairy.

Perhaps its an overhang from the body Beautiful of the Greek Ideal represented in statues .
Of course a hairy body and a large penis were seen as anamalistic to the Greeks and therefore not fully divinely human and close to God like .
There is also the feminisation of men shaving of pubic hair would be a signasl of prepuberty wouldnt it I lookede at the lates t fashion again men and women seem to be changing roles men are sneaking into the womens dept to buy the skinniest Jeans and Supermodels are wearing ( witty Moustaches ?
There was a fashion in the Belle epoch for women werring different coloured Moustaches of Vibrant shades .

It's not only the non bear gay men, everybody is waxed, trimmed and shaved to within an inch of their life. For some reason that is beautiful .. I have to admit that I think a man with chest hair is far more attractive than one without.

I shave all areas mentioned but I wouldn't say I was obsessed with It. I probably spend an extra 10 minutes a day keeping up with it.. I personally like the look and feel of no hair.

I suspect for a lot of guys it might be the same reason women shave it. I do it because I like the feel of smooth skin but primarily because this is a very touch sensitive area, without a blanket covering the skin, you get a far stronger sensation because it's direct skin to skin. Like rubbing your back through a shirt and doing the same without. The sensation is simply better. So there, for me it's strictly sexual and sensual. If I'm not seeing anyone, I just use beard trimmers to keep it clipped nice and short. It feels more hygienic.

From a sexual point of view male hairy-ness is attractive to girls. Not exactly any ones I'd like to be with personally, but thats another story. Shaving itself is something main-stream girl which is luckily slowly moving into main-stream guy. With the justification of males caring more about themselves it becomes not so much a "glamore" effect as just a nessessity of grooming. Your hairy crotch won't really attract anything other than flys afterall. And the actual ability to not have the body hair is actually quite better for hygene.. as well as everyones eyes.
Its not gay men tho, I'd say it may be men more suited to care about how they look. People more body conscious. I shave everywhere... and cut/groom. Its not a matter of being gay, its a matter of grooming yourself. You can get a haircut every week and ignore your body, but eventually your either going to or not going to realize that if you mow the front lawn but leave the back lawn untouched... no one goes back there, but you still know....
*****EDIT******
It almost sounds like you have a deep rooted facination with men who aren't hairy. It almost sounds like a lashing out...
Just a few notes, most swimmers will completely shave their entire body and want to do it constantly so they have no drag while they swim/can stay competative. You might just have one of them around... if its really a guy that is shaving every part of himself because he just needs to be completely smooth as a baby's bottom. Then you have met more of them than I ever have.
