I have to agree with answer two, first. Restaurant, Commercial food service equipment supply dealers is where I'd begin.
Deli or butcher shop quality.

Try to look on th einternet for "used shop equipment" or "butcher's shop equipment" or "used meat slicer" - when some shops close - they give all of theis equipment to special companies to sell.
Alternatively try Ebay.
Also - you can visit your local butcher's shop (or a farm shop) and ask them if they have one they don't need anymore and if you can purchase it from them.
Every meat slicer would be sturdy for household use because most of them are made for industruial use - and this is much tougher environment.
To pack for international shipping - just use loads of bubble wrap and a good, sturdy box.
