I have already made some initial inquiries at credit card processing companies. Most of them suggested that I buy credit card equipment. Is this the right way to go?

You can probably buy some used for cheap.

I have a client that now accepts credit and debit cards. The manager that signed the client up does not realize the total cost each month that it costs the company. They lease the equipment for about $35/mo and then there are all these fees that depend on the amount of use. Ask all the right questions before you sign a lease or buy.

It's depends on your budget. If you have enough cash, then go ahead and purchase the equipment. This entails a significant cash outlay. On the other hand, if you have limited capital, then renting could be your best option.
