As stated above, Cube and The Descent are very good.
However I wonder why you're limiting it to the last 5 years, my favorite horror movie of all time is John Carpenter's The Thing, which came out 1982 before I was even born.

The Number 23 has alot of mystery to it that keeps you guessing until the end. Despite bad reviews it has a unique story line. It's not a scary movie with lots of gore but relies more on psychological horror.

i dont think horror flicks are as scary as they once were. i like to keep them as close to reality as possible so that the thrill of i could happen scares you. so i would recommend wrong turn, the messenger, the hills have eyes but not number 2 it just didnt meet the standards of the first one.amittyville.
