I don't know if there is a worst way to sprain it. Having been a gymnast, I can tell you many, many ways to do it. I have had over165 sprained ankles. That is so many sprains I often feel a cold fear all the way from my chest to my feet before I step off a curb, or walk on uneven surfaces. Sometimes the fear is so intense it paralyzes me.
My sprains occur when my ankle bone falls to the side and hits the ground, throwing me down on the ground, often in the street where further injury from vehicles is a very real possibility. I must scan the road or sidewalk for uneven places or small objects can destabilize my ankle if I step on them. Even so, my ankle will give out for no reason at all, and I must wear shoes that have heels that are wider than the back of the shoe. They are ugly, but I have fewer sprains because of them.
Especially when it's the first sprained ankle someone has had, there will be a lot of swelling, and it may go to the toes, too. My ankle rarely swells up any more. I guess it's used to it.

the worst way is to jump from a building and land on your feet, but that would probably kill you, probably jumping off something not too high, but high and sometimes but most times your toes swell up

By tripping over your own feet (while in a chair), then falling down and getting run over by another person in an office chair. My current situation. Then I was an idiot that ran a 1/4 mile, and jumped off a ladder (twice), and then finally bowled an entire game of bowling with a 12 pound ball. While my ankle was popping out of place and hurting all the while.
