I read about two newspapers a week and about five magazines a week. It pays to keep a wide view and a large choice of ideas that arise from different people.
Whether some call it "trash" or not, where can you get the world and local news from? deciphering it and the way you use it are a different meaning.

yes, it's very informative. It tells me about all the bad things
happening in the world. I always know when people die or
get hurt and suffer. The suffering stories are the best. It does
help me though. When I drive, I try to keep a lookout for
animals or people crossing the center line, because the
paper tells me of all the wrecks. I teach my children to
respect the power of flowing water due to all the drownings
that I read about. The newspaper awakens my mind to all
kinds of risks that we face and the ever growing possibility
of societal breakdown. It makes me wonder as to how I can
protect myself and family.
But I also wish the papers would tell about more
prosperous things. People who've become masters of their
trade. Young people who are overcoming problems. Just
more examples of people who have been successful in their
endeavors and how they did it. Instead of warning me of all
the danger so I can react to it. Why can't the newspaper
teach me just as much about success and how successful
people have achieved it.

yes I read about 6 a day on here, besides watching 3 news channels. Unfortunately they all get the news from the same agencies, so there is little difference. On the otherhand reading editorials offers anothers persons opinion
I really hate ignorant people when they say I am not political and have no interest

When available, I read USA Today....as a rule I use the Internet news sources of CNN and Fox News. That way I can read both sides of the issue and decide where to meet in the middle.
