He says he is unhappy in job, house and other areas of life, but "doesn't know" how he feels about much else. I am not sure how to cope, just looking for some insight.

Help him make an appointment at local clinic. Drive him there and hold his hand until it's time to go back. Most counseling places will also speak to you too. If he needs meds, make sure he takes them when he is supposed to. Don't let him make excuses about why he doesn't need them or a counseling........

He need to go to the doctor. It sounds like he is depressed, and dealing with people like this is not easy. My husband is on meds for depression, his stems from a traumatic childhood. It's gotten a lot better, I just don't understand the whole depression thing, but having had post partum in the past after having my kids I can now relate to him. Being depressed for no reason is the worst feeling in the world.

Maybe he could go to the doctor and get some medication. Or try to fix the things that make him depressed and stressed. Like getting a new job. That might help. Sometimes, my husband gets depressed, but its not too bad. Getting out and doing things he enjoys help.

Good question, I'm going through the same feeling and concerns - but he's already on meds. I just try to talk about things or do things with him that I know makes him smile/happy...we go fishing, plan a short trip with or without the kids depending on his mood. I myself pray for him and ask him if there's anything I can do to help him feel better.

seek medical advice. he will try to change things to try and make himself happy again. that will probably mean new job and often a new partner. been through it before, it's not nice for all involved.
