You mean a man of integrity, someone who is widely respected by everybody associated with the game? Someone who was businesslike, who played by the rules, who wasn't a showboat, but just got out there every 4th or 5th day and got the job done, like a real pro should? A Hall of Famer, who was so highly regarded by all kinds of teammates-black, white, whatever-that lots of them decided to name their sons Ryan in his honor? You mean someone like THAT as baseball commissioner? Hmmmm. What a unique concept. I'll have to sleep on that one.

Why? Who would you have considered a great commissioner in the past? I'd vote for Happy Chandler.

Anyway, has there ever been an ex-player as commish? Also, Nolan Ryan is old. Get someone in there in their 40s.

Nolan has all the charm of a snail. And where is his allegiance? Did he ever stand up against the Players' Union? He would be pro-player (and anti-owner) which mean the chances of the owners picking him is zero.

He might be a decent guy but the problem with any new commish is the amount of power the owners are willing to give him.

I would have to go with Mark Cuban. He is intelligent and wise, while also being crazy and passionate. You can't get much better of a mix than that. He would seriously bring an extra little spark to MLB. However, out of your choices, it would be Paris Hilton. She isn't bias towards a particular team or city. And lets face it, we would be able to see some hot chicks everytime we watch the game. Can't beat it!

It would seem that he is a great deal of integrity. He certainly has a passion for the game. I think he would be willing to take a stand to protect the best interests of the game.

I can't say for certain... but he seems to be an excellent man for the job.

If I could vote for any past player to replace Bud Selig as commish, I would choose George Brett. Who would represent baseball better than that guy?

I think he would do a great job too. He played for a very long time and he knows how MLB works.
