Its always a danger to isolate from America when you depend so much on its trade and companies: just look what they did to Cuba...
America is becoming more isolated everyday sadly. Most people in most countries around the world have an extreme hatred of Bush, not to mention some Americans have hatred of him too.
Americas power is sending out alarm bells but our government is still welcoming Bush with open arms, even though they know what he is like, what he has done to the world. They want to maintain the relationship we have with them: a snub from America would leave our economy in shreds.
America will never be isolated, countries are too scared to.

America has been Isolationists since WWI the only time American Citizens step forward is when there is truely a necessary fight to fight. The last necessary fight besides the first gulf war was WWII. Our cold war endevours were based on the "domino theory" which proved false. Even 9/11 was Al Qaeda's response to our preexisting military presence in the middle east. A military existance that Americans virtually knew nothing about because there is no logical reason for us to be over there save for the acquisition of natural resources.

Perhaps I should agree with you, we Americans should leave the world to the "worlds business" like we did in the 20's and 30's as "isolationists"
Leave the world alone and worry only about ourselves. Leave Africa alone and to their own means, let them starve, let the other countries in the world worry about the medical aid to Africa.
Do the same with all the countries in the world. Let's just back off and let the world alone.

It's been suggested that we bring our troops home. Let them protect our borders and seal the borders off. No one in, no one out.
Cut off all "free" trade with the est of the world. Keep our instructors and educators home, in our own country, our medics, etc.

When there's a world epidemic on earthquakes, storms, tidal waves, let the other countries worry about it.

We would be a very rich Nation, we could then worry about our own poor and needy. It sounds good to me.

Todd N: did you forget a few things: like Korea, Viet Nam, Granada, Panama, at any one time, our troops are fighting somewhere for freedom in about 34 different places around the world but, as some would like, bring them home, why try and help where help isn't wanted.

The US will be isolated just like a diseased patient would be. It will happen the moment the world accepts only Euro's and reject the collapsed dollar. This activity in the middle east is because they don't want the dollar for oil. They are only willing to accept the EURO!

Because ( like you suggested) we're stupid people. -Actually, it just means that we're very Provincial (which means that we don't pay much attention to what goes on- beyond our own borders). It takes a tragedy like 9/11 -to get our attention. And by THEN- it's alittle too late. :(

Who the hell are you? Read cowboydoc--He gave an intelligent, thoughtful response to your silly question. I'm sorry I called your question silly. It just sort of pissed me off
