is a mac for me? does mac have any of my main issues with my two year old windows xp laptop? they are:
slow
slow startup
slow opening of programs
rediculously low ram (348 mb)
it takes FOREVER to transfer my effing pictures onto it, and sometimes doesnt even recognize it.
xp is ugly (although i customized my desktop to somewhat look like a mac, with a dark touch, but still.
have to tie the damn chargin cable on with a rubber band to see if itl MAYBE feel like charging (im really interested in the macs magnetic thingy)
um, did i mention is ugly? and old.
really bad media handeling.

i just really want something fresh and new that just works when i want it to and thats fast and reliable and pretty.

and please dont recomend ubuntu. tried it. and it is the shitiest os. ide rather live with xp forever then deal with the hardness of ubuntu.

ok so no biased answers and thanks!!

Well the first three things and the fifth thing you list are all caused by the fourth, you don't have enough RAM. This is a universal problem whether you get a PC or a Mac, so make sure whatever you buy, you get a good amount of RAM. As for the uglyness factor, well if you like the looks of a Mac, then you like the looks of it, simple enough. As for the charger, to my knowledge the magnetic thing works pretty well.

The bottom line is you need to look at the hardware behind what you are buying to determine how fast it is, not whether it is a Mac or Dell, HP, Sony, etc etc.

I believe you will be very happy with a Mac. I prefer to use a laptop for its ease of portability. Nowadays they do what a desktop will do.

You'll be up and running within ten minutes, literally, of opening it, there's sufficient software bundled to carry out normal activities but bear in mind that any specialist work you want may possibly require buying new software though there is a decent amount of freeware around.

The hardware for Macs is excellent as you'll know. Just think through your software requirements and see what comes bundled and what is available freeware.
