I officially am not on the depo provera shot anymore and now i'm having problems. I was on the depo for 3 1/2 years and didn't have a period for the last 2 1/2 years of it. I've been off the shot for about 3 1/2 months. I started my period three weeks ago and i start then stop, start then stop. It isn't very heavy either. I'm now getting sharp pains in my pelvic area. Not like cramps. SHARP pains. Mostly just on the right side of my pelvic area. Also, when I am bleeding I get small blood clots every time I wipe. About a week ago I also was having a numbing feeling in my stomach, and a couple days later having cramps from a little above my ovaries to my knees, also i get fluttering feelings in my pelvic area as if a baby is kicking me. Pregnancy tests say i'm not pregnant. I called my doctor and the earliest they can get me in is in another two weeks. If someone can tell me what it might be I would really appreciate it.

It says here that: After the last shot of Depo Provera, it can take over 6 months for the drug to leave the body. Side effects may linger until the drug is completely gone.

Even though you stopped it you need to read about side effects and you might find the answers

It could be but the only way to know for sure is at your doctors appointment.

Please just calm down and don't freak out!

I was on it for four years, finally got off of it and am much happier. I chose to go on the pill after my shot so nothing like you are going through would happen.

Good luck, try (right) not to worry (yeah right).
