I have lived in seven different states (PA, NY, MI, RI, MD, ME, and MA) and two different countries (USA and Germany)

No - my Dad is a college professor and he drag us all along on a lot of sabbaticals he took - although I did actually go to school on American Army bases in Germany and have run into many Army brats who had similar experiences with me - so ended up at the same high school with me years later in RI.
