It definately sounds like ammonia poisening
Do a 50% waterchange right away, get yourself an ammonia testkit, and follow up with partial waterchanges of 25% every other day until your ammonia levels are at '0'
As for bringing back your fish, when you have done your waterchange the levels will be different anyway, so I doubt that they would erase your warranty
Usually they test your water and let you know what's wrong with your water, that way you can fix it
Hope that helps
good luck

Take this fish back. They have a 2 week guarantee I believe. It could be something the fish had before you got them, or it could be something that was brought on from the stress of being moved and placed in a new tank. Take a sample of your tank water to be tested as well.
ETA: no it does not void your warranty. It just helps them to try to figure out what is wrong. Also if it is your water they'll know not to sell anymore fish to you until they help you fix the problem, so that they do not lose anymore fish.

In response to iNerT, I'd just like to say that I work at Petco in the fish departments. I can't tell you how many people walk in and don't ask any questions about the fish they are buying and how to care for them. I just have to assume that if they aren't going to ask any questions, they must know what they are doing. And for those people that do ask the questions, most of them are too impatient to wait at least 2 weeks for their tank to become cycled, and buy the fish against our recommendation.
Its the same with goldfish. No one wants to listen to me and get a minimum of a 20-30 gallon tank for fancy goldfish, and at least 10 gallons for addional one. So even though I tell them how unhealthy it is for the fish and that they won't live long, they still but it for their half a gallon bowl.
So its not always the pet shops fault for not explaining the basics of keeping a fish tank. Its mainly the customers fault for not asking, or for not listening.
Sorry for ranting on with this one, its just not fair for the employees that do try to help their customers. I know a lot of employees at pet shops that are the least bit helpful, but there still are people that try to help, and get s*** like this when the customer screws up for not doing any reseach or asking questions.

Its Ammonia poisoning, is your tank new? if so this is the problem. If your water is bad they wont refund you the money so try and get some water from a good tank.
Go to a local fish store buy fish and use the water that comes with the fish as the water they are going to test. This may be sneaky and lying but hey its their fault for not telling you your tank has to be cycled.

You need to take them back to petco. They should take them back since you just got them. It may be something the fish had before you bought them, there is no telling what it could be. There are so many things that fish can get. Petco may know what it is .
