Just for a quick moment, consider, if you will, that Dr. Lammers has half-a-clue to her name and she googles the poem written by another that you give her. Now how special is she going to feel then? Or consider that Dr. Lammers is like most people on the planet with a computer and she googles herself, and she finds this plea for a poem that one of her students is begging for so she can give it to her.

Now ask yourself... does she feel like a complete failure that one of HER students has done this?

Sometimes the best things that are given as gifts are the things we give that were made by ourselves. The person receiving the gift doesn't care if it's Shakespeare quality or not. They care that the person giving the gift spent the time to create something in honor of that them. Were you raised by wolves? You're mom never kept your macaroni portrait of her?

Think about what you are doing and what it means. Every teacher on the planet would be happy if their students learned to do this simple thing above all else.

Now go write that poem from your heart!

Praising Dr. Lammers

Professor, professor, what's this I see?
A frog on a tray laid out just for me?
Before it was crayfish, the next time who knows?
But one thing's for certain, your experience shows
You make what was difficult seem clear to me now
The way you explain things makes it easy somehow
And I just want to tell you as I dissect this frog
You're the lighthouse of learning that pierces my fog

hope it works for you
