I want to wear black shirts, and jeans with a stud belt, with a chain on one side of the pants, and black fingerless gloves. My mom absolutely hates the fingerless gloves, the black shirts (she hates the color black when it is clothes) and she hates the chain. How can I convince her to let me wear those three things?

The shirts, I want to wear aren't all the way black, they have designs on them, and band names, and lots of stuff like that. Also the jeans I would like to wear are blue, doesn't matter what kind of blue, just blue.

Start with compromising. Ask her if she can at least let you try the black shirts. Then as time progresses then maybe she might become more lenient. And if she won't budge, bring up the fact that fashion is about expressing yourself and that shows how you feel some days.

Compromise! I believe in this compromise thing.
Tell her that if you get a good grade in *subject here* she can let you wear *item here*!
Or ask her if you can wear just ONE of those items at a time--trust me, overdoing it isn't cool. At all. Like, wear those fingerless gloves one day with something fun like a concert shirt and a pair of denim jeans.
Black has become kinda boring, really. It's just black. But that's my opinion, right? I suggest concert tees if you want a bit more of an edge to your outfit.
Clothing is a form of self-expression--do you really think you're expressing yourself by just wearing black? "I'm the absence of light, and the presence of all pigment" Try being more expressive, rather than just wanting to wear that sort of outfit.
I've seen that kind of outfit before, and it screams "LABEL ME PUNK/GOTH" (I am not sure which label people like to use). But unless that is what you want and feel like doing, go ahead.
Btw, I do wear black shirts sometimes, but that's only when I'm feeling so-so.

dressing the way you want is a privilege - try asking your mom how you could earn the right to wear a few items of your own selection.....it needs to be give and take: for mom to give up the freedom of telling you what to wear, you need to give something in return. Try having an open discussion - any maybe you can compromise with mom - such as if you do certain chores for x amount of time or bring up a certian grade, you can have one day a week that you wear anything you want? Or maybe just one of the items listed instead of all three? Also, showing your mom your willing to give and take will show maturity on your end - and help keep communication open with your mom

that outfit does sound really silly but if you wanted to wear it maybe you should compromise with her. maybe get a black shirt with some sort of design on it, wear the belt and ditch the chain.(i wore one when i was in high school they really are more of a hassle than they are worth). I would ditch the gloves too the chain and the gloves make it look silly if it were just the shirt, jeans and belt paired with a sexy pair of chunky boots that would be cute. maybe run that past her.

depends on your age! Theres nothing wrong with testing out different clothing styles. I'm 21 and I have a 4 year old son. If he wants to wear stuff like that i will let him. Clothing is an expression. Just tell her you wanna try out something new. BUT.................If your only doing it cause other people are then forget it alright!!! Be yourself cause when you grow up none of those people in school will matter and only a handful will still be with you after graduation. thats adulthood and after the pressure is gone of fitting in. you won't care as much about what you wear.

Layer a white dress shirt over over the T's. Wear fitted black jeans instead of faded blue denim. Make sure your hair is cute (and spikey with a little gel). If you can wear make-up, make it fresh and pinky, but go for black eye-liner if you want. Think Paris (the city), not goth. Lighten it up with colorful bags and plaids.
The tongue piercing can come later.

-_- That... yeah.. no.
If you're gonna dress all "BLACKEMOhardcooorre"
try to add some personal touches.
hah, I hate dressing too girly, so I'll wear something
tougher, but add a little feminine touch to it.
Just to mix&match. and as for your mom
Just do it anyway -_-
What's she gonna do, Rip it off you?
Don't think so hahah

first of all u have to gain her confidence and still if she didnt let you use that...
Dress like she allows you and put in your bag or purse the accesories you like and change your clothes once your out of home... its kind of annoying but sometimes its the only option
