I don't know about others but I like Harry Potter because of the reality mixture with unreal things.Besides Harry's character is portrayed very well. The story though unreal is satisfying for me.Try reading the books its awesome. But the media are really taking this in their hands and getting Harry into everyone's head, the publicity for the books is too much where people think that Harry Potter is very over rated. I'm a fan but I know he is not real just a fiction.

Greetings! In all of my life, I cannot remember another book that has created this kind of stirring. I also cannot remember a book that took the world by storm like Harry Potter did.
Rowling created a whirlwind...a popular children's book for older children, read by adults who were equally fascinated, then passed to other families who read to their children and the children read the books, which pleased the parents that the children were actually thriving on the books, so more adults read the book...the paradox went on and on.
I don't know if another series will take the world by storm like Harry Potter did, but I sure hope to see at least one more in my lifetime.
Reading is such a wonderful passion in life and the joy has been neglected by many for several years.
If nothing else, Rowling put books in the hands of countless millions of people who probably would not read otherwise.
And for that alone, she has truly earned every penny she received from the books. Being a teacher, I am very proud and thankful for what she has done. Not just for children, but for adults alike. For the world humanity in general. Not many can touch the lives of millions like Rowling did. Take care.

It started when harry was a child. He gained sympathy from public with the way his character was portrayed. Even other characters are portrayed in a beautiful manner. Actually this book creates a movie in your mind. And above all it is about a world that does not exist but J.K.R has managed it to make it a virtual reality in the minds of the reader. Whenever anyone reads it s/he finds a part of themselves & their near ones in the characters. What else do you expect from a books.

I haven't quite figured that out yet myself, but I am sure depressed that a majority of our youth name J.K. Rowling and Dan Brown when asked for their favorite authors. I find the writing to be puerile and exhausted. Perhaps what is even more disturbing is how many people thought Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code is original! Such speculations and theories have been written about for centuries.
I was quite appalled this week when I attended my first English class at college to find a group of half-wits who have never read the works of Leo Tolstoy, Ayn Rand, Mary Shelley, James Joyce, or Ernest Hemmingway. They read Shakespeare only as an assignment and easily confuse Sophocles with Socrates.
It's all terribly tragic.

Not just children, not just teenagers but also adults, looked forward to the series and wanted to read it at the first instance. This amount of caziness is just because of one simple reason, the challenges faced and the solutions to the challenges in a right sense, the security implied. It also shows the greatness of love, friendship, courage, bravery.
We all those who read visualize ourselves and we also live the entire story along with Harry and his friends. We love those people who love him and we hate those people who hate him and who hates it. Also there are lots of fantasy and magic involved which we all want to happen to us at one point of other

Because most of it's original reading base (11-19) can very easily identify with the issues that an adolescent Harry has to deal with, mostly because they're going through or have gone through it themselves. That, plus the fact the series is set in a fantasy setting, which appeals to children of all ages, coupled with the fact that, in Rowling's books, good is rewarded and bad is punished. So, children learn that there are consequences for your actions and other important life lessons. That's what so "sneaky" about her books- they teach you things, whether about life or ancient mythology or relationships- without you really realizing it.

First two episodes was fun reading and watching it later ... but after that it really start irritating so much with the same story line, magic and the same faces and special effects in the films ... iam so thankful that Rowling has finally ended the book .. may god bless her ... i think she should have finished the book either in the 3rd or 4th part. Harry was a craze initially but now he has really started irritating.

dats coz its not just abracadabra! magic as some fools think!!
ppl r not idiots 2 go gaga over something like dat honestly!!
the series talks purely of love, courage, loyalty, friendship, and wat not?
a person reading it comes 2 relate himself 2 the characters..
the lead character is not a HERO!! not at all!! he s just like u and me!!
one has 2 admire the imagination of the author..
each character has an uniqueness..
the series is a refined one...
i whole-heartedly pity those ppl who scorn at it without even laying their hands on the books!! they r missing out a lot!
as for me.. I ADORE JO ROWLING and her work and im eagerly awaiting her next one watever it may be!!
urs potter solidarity.
