Newton is the SI Unit for force which in the US and Britain is usually measured in foot pounds.
Blame the French for your confusion.

Mass is a property of matter that is measured by its weight.
The weight of something changes with the gravity field, but the mass remains constant.
On earth under 1G an item that weighs 60 lbs will have a mass of 60 lbs. On the moon though it has 1/6th the weight so it has a weight of 10 lbs, but the mass hasn't changed.

weight: newtons (N)
mass: kilogram (kg)
Think of it this way, newtons are the SI units for force. Weight is the force of gravity pulling your mass down. (W=mass*gravity)

mass is m and its SI unit is the kilogram.
forceis F and its SI unit is the newton. Density is row and its SI unit is mass/volume.
