Yes. If my friend is battling the worst thing in her life, she needs support.

Absolutely.... I have a friend that's going through chemo right now, and I might shave my head and surprise her... I just want to make sure that won't upset her more because she likes my hair... :)

Excuse me, Violation Notice... My friend battles EVERY day of her life. And it is a battle, it's a battle that involves not only her body, but her mind and her soul. I think for you to make such a statement is ignorant and offensive. You might want to consider educating yourself before you speak out of turn again... for instance, take some of your free time and go to the Cancer Society and meet some people that are BATTLING Cancer. Perhaps then, you could not only learn something about compassion, but you would also alleviate yourself and others of your obvious ignorance on the subject.

Sorry, but that was an idiotic thing to say... back to your question... LOL.

definitely.
I lost my Godfather to Cancer. My Aunt has been battling cancer for almost 20 years.
I think fighting cancer should be a priority for the medical industry and should be fully supported by the federal government.

If such a merely symbolic gesture as my shaving of head would reassure my ill friend I would have gladly shaven off my hair even if I were to be a woman with a shock of hair. Left to myself I woud prefer to proffer some more concrete and meyaningful help.I would keep him/her company I would be on the lookout for the latest help available for the discease. If organ transplant would be of any use I would offer mine without a second thought.

I think that it's totally up to you.
I knew someone that shaved his head when his father was battling cancer so I think it is a really big gesture and shows someone you really care. But, it is completely your own decision.

I actually had people who wanted to do that for me, and I told them that they were nuts! Shaving your head doesn't support a cancer patient. Fixing them a meal supports a cancer patient. Running an errand for them supports a cancer patient. Donating to a charity supports a cancer patient.

CARING supports a cancer patient.

No, my hair is almost to my waist. Now if she wanted a wig, then I would bob it and have one made for her. I agree with the other who said that there are better ways to support your loved ones through rough times like these...
