I say I want to leave Iraq and go after Osama... and I constantly get called "unpatriotic" on here?

you guys are the ones that all but REFUSE to go after Osama... the man Republicans CLEARLY pinned the 9-11 attacks on themselves...

yet they run to Iraq that had very few 9-11 links and then question my patriotism?

how about a little explaination Repubs? I find it borderline sickening when you continue to make excuses for not going after Osama...

Obama's about the only one that's actually talked about going after Osama... and I've heard Republicans slam him too?

the big picture?

the big picture is Osama attacked us and if we go after him... any terrorists in Iraq will fall back to protect Osama...

we're fighting the terrorists on their terms right now... they're leaders are safe and tucked away and they can send all the low level terrorists they can find to attack us with MINIMAL effect on their overall opperation...

2007-08-09 18:05:07 · update #2

and I don't think we can make a good bid for Osama while we're in Iraq... who are the terrorists... where are they getting money and orders from... and how do you stop them...

right now we seem to be attacking the lowest levels of the terrorism network... and it seems to have little effect on the overall ability of the network...

EDIT: which leaders were captured... how high were they?

YOU HAVE ZERO EVIDENCE OF HOW MUCH WE HAVE AFFECTED ALQUEDA'S ABILITIES WITH OUR WAR IN IRAQ... all you have is vague reports saying we captured, at best, a key Iraqi leader... see that IRAQI... WHEN THEIR MAIN LEADERS AREN'T IN IRAQ...

just never mind... you clearly think that al-queda is totally headquartered in Iraq WITH ABSOLUTETLY ZERO EVDIENCE DESPITE WHAT THE CIA CONSTATLY SAYS... and anyone who belives different is "falling for it"... and as soon as we win in Iraq... al-queda will be defeated... somehow magically?

listen to what you're saying... you want to focus our attack on an area THAT IS UNDENIABLY NOT THE HEADQUARTERS OF AL-QUEDA... it's like if we focused our efforts in WWII by fighting only in France and totally ignoring Germany, just because there were some Nazis there...

go read about al-queda... please... read the 9-11 report... look at what they are doing in Pakistan and Afghanistan now...

Basically Republicans are idiots who care more about their insane little political party than about the welfare of the United States.

Apparently they must be afraid that, that move would cut into their stock and war profit margins. You have got to remember Bush announced Mission Accomplished years ago and he started the Bush war for oil in Iraq. Guess what? We are still in Iraq fighting for the oil fields while Osama runs free, and builds his network stronger than ever. Pakistan needs to get about 500,000 ground troops right along with the Conservatives BlackWater USA mercs to end this thing once and for all.
By the way, I think the Republicans are learning that the World doesn't revolve around them and their view points. They just call you unpatriotic because you aren't one of their clones, and have a voice of reason.

Haven't you heard the new Boogeyman is Iran?

Michael Gordon has been doing a regular front page series on how Iran is the enemy on the front page of the New York Times (latest was yeaterday,) and how Iran planned an attack on U.S. troops in Iraq *(propaganda.)
This is the same Michael Gordon who did many articles with Judy Miller about all those WMDs Saddam had, and what a threat he was to the U.S.

What's "Unpatriotic" is to keep referring to the old story after the Beloved Leader has changed it. After the Mother of All Presidents decided he wanted to invade Iraq, you were supposed to forget all about Osama. In fact, you were supposed to forget that there was a war going on in Afghanistan, which is why Pat Tillman's family have been branded "Traitors" by the Busheviks.

Sorry to have to be the one to break the news to you, but to be a "patriot" you have to watch Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly in order to stay current with the official line.

A short memory is a big help to patriotism these days, which is why George the Third is standing by Alberto Gonzales--that man never remembers anything that could be embarrassing.

There has to be a reason no one is looking for him. The reward is huge and it grows yet no one on the whole planet seems interested. Now that tells me there is a lot we don't know about this situation and it isn't just a Bush thing cause Clinton wouldn't take him either.

I seriously doubt that any republicans are calling you unpatriotic for wanting to get Osama. It's the second part of your question that might rile a few republicans - the part about "I say I want to leave Iraq............"
That's simply a short sighted and dangerous policy.
Getting Saddam out of power and confronting terrorists - where ever they may be - is long overdue. Don't think for a minute that Iran isn't stepping lightly due to America's commitment to crush these Islamic militants.
Really, don't you think enough is enough? Over 25 years of terrorizing and murdering Americans all over the globe - and then the events of 9/11.
No one is making excuses for "not going after Osama" - there's just simply a bigger picture here then to commit all of our troops to finding one dirt bag. It's far more important that we try to eliminate this ideology of hatred and domination - and if we stumble across Osama in the mean time, well, that's just the frosting on the cake.

ADDED in response - you think their leaders are "safe and tucked away?"

"Us military experts expect AlQaeda to strike back with more attacks. The US led offensive has severely disrupted their activities. In May and June alone, 26 AlQaeda leaders were captured or killed."

AlQaeda will resist the surge because they cannot win a military victory over the United States, but they know from history that the anti-war activists in this country can win it for them if they can only hold out long enough. It's a public relations war for them - and you're falling for it - hook, line and sinker.

They call you unpatriotic because that is part of their weaponry. They want to shut you up. You're dissing their "Daddy" Bush.

A lot of them are unhinged enough to string us up by our toenails for disagreeing with them about Bush's conduct during this "war", too. Totally Rush Limpballs-esque unhinged!!!

It's just like the Red Scare back in the fifties. They're taking away all of our rights and the rightards are sitting there saying we don't need any rights, we need PROTECTION.

Big bunch of babies. Their kind of "Daddy Knows Best" thinking is what will destroy our Great Country if it isn't stopped.

They have no explanation. They refuse to give an explanation. The Republican neocons want the attention kept on Iraq, because the W administration forgot their promise to the American people, which was, that we will track down every person involved with 9-11, whether they helped plan it, provided logistics, gave safe haven to, or were directly involved. Also, W made it very clear that we would go into any other country to pursue them, whether they would help us or not.

I hope you get him!

Seriously though..
Problem is I doubt he will ever be captured if he isnt already dead. Terrorism will still continue and I dont think much will change.

Of course everyone would like to see him captured. How would justice be served to him? If we put him to death, then hes a martyr yet he doesnt deserve to live.
