My sister's keeper : a novel / Jodi Picoult
A great novel by Jodi!
My sisters keeper- At age of thirteen Anna decides to sue her parents for the rights of her own body. She from birth has been a though countless transfusions and shots to help her sister, Kate who has leukemia. When asked to donate a organ Anna decides that she wants control of her own body and makes the hardest decision to sue her parents. Seen in mulitple points of view-it shows a honest way of how people are effected with such a issue. It makes you think of what you would do in such a situation.

Saving francesca- At Sixteen Francesca always counted on her mum being the strength of her family.
Her mum every morning placed post it notes on Francescas' mirror and the house halls echoed with songs that were set to inspire Francesca and her sibling. Then one morning there is no post it notes, no songs and her mum hasn't left her bed.
That is one of many problems that Francesca faces when she gets up in the morning. She has no idea why her mum isn't getting out of bed and she has to deal with a new school with new friends. To top it off she has boys at her school that are less than happy that there are girls at their once only boys only school.
I found this book easy to pick up and get into the story. I loved that Francesca was different from Alibrandi (first novel of Melindas') and laughed many times throughout the novel remembering when i was in high school.

You want me to pick one!

Here's five of my favorite books:

1. Pride And Prejudice by Jane Austen. Story set in England about marriage and social standings in the 1800s. Has a happy ending.

2. Kiki Strike Inside The Shadow City by Kirsten Miller. An adventure story set in modern day NYC with a group of girls called the Irregulars exploring a hidden city underneath NYC.
Excellent.

3. Quantum Prophecy The Awakening by Michael Carroll. A science fiction story about superheroes and an evil bad guy plotting to become the most powerful human being. A little bit corny but action packed.

4. The World's Religions by Huston Smith. Essays on the larger religions of the world, mostly philosophical. Great reading but don't try to use it for college essays.

5. Trial By Fire by Sabine C Bauer. TV show tie-in novelization, action packed and interesting.

Gonna have to go with three books here. The first is "The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon" by Washington Irving. It's actually a compliation of various short stories including "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" and "Rip Van Winkle" of different themes.

The second book is "The Killer Angels" by Micheal Shaara. It's historic fiction about the Battle of Gettysburg as seen largely through the eyes of several major figures of the battle.

The final book is "The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus," one of L. Frank Baum's non-Oz books. As the title clearly says, it's about the life of Santa Claus. Or more acurately to the book, Claus.

It's hard to pick my favorite book (as noted by my username) but here are my three most beloved:
1. Tamora Pierce's "Circle of Magic" series, which is about four young people (three girls and a boy) who discover they are mages. Each book focuses mainly on one character as each of them learn and grow in both strength and friendship.

2. Ray Bradbury's "Farenheit 451", which I think should be a staple for any book-lover's library. The main point you have to know about this book is that 451 degrees farenheit is the temperature at which a book will burn. In the novel a "fireman" named Montag, who has spent his entire life setting fire to any books he comes across, finally starts reading one...and then another...and another. He ends up a fugitive, chased by the same people he has worked for and with for years, running to join up with the "Book People". You'll have to read for yourself to find out who they are ;)

3. Homer's "The Illiad and The Odyssey" which is really two books in one. The "Illiad" is the story of the Trojan War and the struggle for the hand of Helen of Troy. The "Odyssey" follows the character Odysseus as he tries to return home to Ithaca with the God Poseidon placing obstacles in his way at every turn.

Two of my favorite books:
The Harry Potter series
Life of Pi- about a young boy from India who ends up stuck on a life boat with a tiger in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. This is a great read and has a few twists and turns. It's a little "M. Night Shyamalanesque"- I highly recommend it!!

What's your favorite book??
